Part 1 — Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Jemmah, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, uninstall the app immediately. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Tejas Patil / SKYLabs India Private Limited.

2. Eligibility

Jemmah is intended solely for users aged 18 years and above. By using this app, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. What Jemmah Is

Jemmah is an offline-first, privacy-focused personal assistant for Android. It runs entirely on your device. Features include:

• AI-Powered Chat Assistant (local LLM, no cloud)
• Notes, Tasks, Reminders, Calendar
• Personal Accounts Ledger
• Password Vault
• Media Vault (images and documents)
• Text-to-Speech Output (voice responses only; microphone input is not active in this version)
• App Lock (PIN and Fingerprint)
• Local Notifications

Development Disclosure: Jemmah was built using AI tools including Gemini and Claude. The app does not connect to any AI cloud service during normal use.

4. App Lock & Access Control

Jemmah includes a fully local App Lock system:

• 4-Digit PIN Lock: A mandatory PIN required every time the app opens.
• Fingerprint Authentication: Use your device fingerprint as primary unlock, with PIN as fallback.
• Settings Lock: A separate PIN gate protecting the Settings page.

All PIN values and lock preferences are stored locally on your device only. No server, no cloud, no recovery mechanism exists.

5. No Warranty

Jemmah is provided "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE." We make no guarantees regarding reliability, accuracy, or fitness for any purpose. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate and are not a substitute for professional legal, medical, or financial advice. You use the app entirely at your own risk.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Tejas Patil and SKYLabs India Private Limited shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Jemmah, including data loss, device malfunction, or financial loss.

7. Data Loss Disclaimer

All data is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling Jemmah permanently and irreversibly deletes all your notes, tasks, passwords, files, and history. There is no backup or recovery mechanism. We strongly recommend maintaining your own backups.

8. Password & Financial Data

The password vault and accounts ledger store data in a local SQLite database protected by Android's standard app sandbox isolation. No additional encryption is applied beyond what Android provides natively. You are solely responsible for the data you store.

9. AI Model Licensing

Jemmah supports third-party AI models in GGUF format. The app does not bundle any model. You must download and import models independently. By using any model, you agree to its license:

• Gemma 3 by Google DeepMind — Google Gemma Terms of Use
• Phi-3 Mini by Microsoft — MIT License
• Llama 3.2 by Meta — Meta Llama Community License
• Qwen 2.5 by Alibaba Cloud — Apache License 2.0

SKYLabs India Private Limited is not responsible for your compliance with third-party model licenses.

10. Prohibited Uses

You must not use Jemmah to store credentials belonging to others without consent, generate content for harassment or illegal activity, or decompile/reverse-engineer the application.

11. Intellectual Property

The Jemmah name, logo, and user interface are the exclusive intellectual property of Tejas Patil. You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the app on your Android device.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. All disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Part 2 — Privacy Policy

1. Zero Data Collection

Jemmah collects absolutely no personal data. We have no backend servers, no cloud databases, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no advertising SDKs. You are never required to create an account or provide any personal information.

Because no personal data is ever collected or received by us, SKYLabs India Private Limited is not a "Data Fiduciary" under India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.

2. Local Data Storage

All data you enter — notes, tasks, calendar events, passwords, account entries, chat history, media files — is stored exclusively in a private SQLite database and AsyncStorage on your device. This data is inaccessible to other apps and cannot be read externally unless your device has been rooted or compromised.

If you activate the App Lock feature, your chosen 4-digit PIN and biometric preference are processed entirely on-device and stored locally in isolated system registers. No network entity can access or query this security setup.

3. AI Processing

All AI inference happens entirely on your device's CPU/GPU. Your messages, prompts, and chat history are never sent to any external server — not to us, not to Google, Meta, Microsoft, or any other party.

4. Internet Usage

Jemmah uses the internet only for downloading AI model files from HuggingFace (user-initiated) and opening links you have saved in your default browser (user-initiated). No background data transmission occurs.

5. Permissions

• RECORD_AUDIO — Declared in manifest but NOT currently active. Microphone input is disabled in this version. No audio is recorded or processed.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Local reminders and calendar alerts only. No push servers used.
• READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — For importing AI model files from your device storage (legacy Android compatibility).
• READ_MEDIA_IMAGES — For importing images into the private media vault.
• USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT — Local device fingerprint unlock only. No security tokens are transmitted anywhere.
• INTERNET — For model downloads and opening saved links in browser only.
• CAMERA — Reserved for future use. Not currently active.

6. Your Right to Deletion

You have complete control over your data. To delete all Jemmah data: use "Delete All Chats" in Settings, go to Android Settings → Apps → Jemmah → Storage → Clear Data, or uninstall the app. All actions permanently and irreversibly delete all your data.

7. Children's Privacy

Jemmah is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Part 3 — Google Play Data Safety

Does your app collect or share any user data? NO

Is all user data encrypted in transit? Not Applicable (no data is transmitted)

Do you provide a way for users to request data deletion? YES — via Android Settings → Apps → Jemmah → Clear Data, or by uninstalling.

Part 4 — Permissions Declaration

RECORD_AUDIO

Declared in the app manifest but microphone input from the user is NOT active in this version. Jemmah does not record, process, or store any audio input. Retained for a future voice input feature.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Required for local reminders, task alerts, calendar events, birthdays, and anniversaries. No cloud push servers are used.

READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

Required for legacy Android compatibility to allow importing AI model files from local storage.

READ_MEDIA_IMAGES

Required for modern Android to allow importing images into the private media vault.

USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT

Required to call the native device fingerprint API for local app unlock. No security tokens are transmitted anywhere.

INTERNET

Used solely for downloading AI model files from HuggingFace and opening user-saved links in the default browser. No background data transmission.

CAMERA

Reserved for future use. Not currently active in this version.

Security Guarantees: No permission operates silently in the background. No permission feeds advertising, analytics, or tracking systems. Every permission is triggered only by explicit user action.
